Sustainable Public Procurement Programme
The One Planet Network Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) programme is a voluntary global multi-stakeholder partnership in which various parties - governmental, non-governmental, public and private, agree to work together in a systematic way with the aim to promote and accelerate the implementation of sustainable public procurement globally as a way to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Actors of the programme
The SPP programme is co-led by the Environmental Development Centre of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability, with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands (Rijkswaterstaat) playing a fundamental role as a strategic partner. A Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Committee (MAC) and a large network of members on the ground are working on the concrete implementation of projects.
The One Planet SPP programme is built on networks and partnerships, promoting networking among like-minded organisations and facilitating learning through experiences sharing. Any entity or project that works on supporting and stimulating SPP and delivers working examples that is willing to share and link with the programme, is a potential member of the programme. Read the Modus Operandi of the programme, which outlines the role and responsibilities of different programme actors (leads, core partners, members).
