One Planet Network Forum 2024: For a Sustainable Planet and a Just World
The OPN Forum will be held under the overarching theme of ‘Reducing inequalities and achieving just transitions for all through sustainable consumption and production, including circular economy’.
This two-day event promises to be an immersive experience on concrete solutions for reducing inequalities and fostering just transitions for all through sustainable consumption and production, with a spotlight on the transformative power of the circular economy.
The One Planet Network Forum - a platform for cooperation and thought leadership to accelerate the implementation of the Global Strategy on Sustainable Consumption and Production and SDG12 - will this year take place during the G-20 in Rio de Janeiro, convened with the Government of Brazil.
Featuring thematic sessions organised with strategic partners, plenary sessions, a high-level segment, an agora exhibition space, and compelling networking opportunities, the Forum will bring together a range of participants from diverse sectors, geographies, and focuses.
Thematic Sessions
The Forum will feature nine thematic sessions created by strategic partners of the One Planet Network. These sessions will showcase solutions on:
- Public and private finance for socially effective investments public finance
- Creating opportunities for all through green skills and decent jobs
- Empowering the informal sector and enhancing social protection through circular economy
- Securing environmental and human health and addressing obstacles to development through circular and fair value chain.
- Advancing a sustainable built environment that reduces vulnerabilities through inclusive approaches
- The role of cities and local governments in promoting well-being, sustainable consumption, and lifestyles.
- Solutions for effective product sustainability information to consumers
- Achieving sustainable food systems through public procurement and fair value chain.
Forum Attendees
Participation in the Forum will be comprised of both invited guests and those selected by application, and will come from a diverse range of geographies, sectors, and focuses, including:
