Support for better application of the control system in pbl

The construction and property sector accounts for approximately 20 percent of Sweden's total emissions of greenhouse gases. In addition to that, approximately 10 million tonnes of construction and demolition waste is generated per year (Boverket/Statistics centralbyrån). Errors, defects and damage lead to, among other things, overproduction of building materials, increased transport, increased amounts of waste and not least unnecessary work when errors, defects and damage need to be rectified. If the industry does not reduce its climate impact, it is likely that climate change in the form of extreme weather will also generate additional faults, defects and damage in the buildings. The environmental and climate impact of the construction and property sector would be reduced if the amount of errors, defects and damage was reduced. It would increase the possibility for Sweden to reach its climate goals.
