The NSDA 2020+ is a guiding document for the Cook Islands aimed to steer the Cook Islands towards a vision of well-being where people are empowered, innovative and environmentally conscious and grounded in our culture and languagues.
Zero Waste is one of the targets of the NSDA where the Cook Islands is moving focus to waste prevention that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all products are reused. Ultimately, the Cook Islands goal is for no solid wastes to be sent to the landfills, incinerators or the ocean.
