The 14th International Conference on Environmental and Rural Development

The International Society of Environmental and Rural Development is pleased to announce the 14^th International Conference on Environmental and Rural Development, the 14^th ICERD, being held in Siem Reap, Cambodia from 3-5 March 2023. The main objective of this conference is to discuss and develop the suitable and effective processes and strategies for sustainable agriculture and rural development incorporating innovation and green technologies. Scientists and facilitators of all disciplines belonging to international, governmental or non-governmental organisations are invited to participate and submit contributions. UNU-IAS will organise a special online session at the 14th International Conference on Environmental and Rural Development (ICERD). Under the theme ‘Circular Economy Education for Sustainable Development in Local Communities’, this event will explore the role of education, multi-stakeholder partnerships, and community engagement in addressing local problems, focusing on the promotion and practice of the circular economy model. It will share experiences and discuss lessons learnt on how the Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs) have responded and contributed to mitigating the adverse impacts of irresponsible consumption and production. Participation is open to everyone and no registration is required. Participants can join the meeting via Zoom here. This session is directy related to the work of the UN OPN SBC programme.

Professor Usha Iyer-Raniga is at the School of Property and Construction Management at RMIT University. Usha is co-leading the One Planet Network’s Sustainable Buildings and Construction Programme (SBC), United Nations 10 Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (UN 10FYP SCP) aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 12, as well as the newly formed Integrated Platform for Circular Economy, Climate Resilience, and Energy.
